Here is a list of rules I have learned working in a lab and being in lab classes over the years. Most of them I or someone around me learned the hard way.

LAB RULES

1. Change your gloves

2. Do not eat any samples. Even if they are food.

3. LABEL! EVERYTHING!

4. Do not leave any liquids precariously over the edge of a counter

5. The heat glove cannot touch things that are 550 Celsius

6. Add acid to water, never water to acid

7. Always have a spare pair of jeans

i know tim would most likely already have multiple samples of his own dna while cloning BUT the thought of him just slashing across his palm in order to get his blood... deep enough to leave a scar that will forever remind him of what he did... in a desperate attempt to, if not get kon, but at least get something... like idk. kinda sexy if you ask me

You know for all that the Fenton's are seen by the fandom as A+ parents, I really don't think anyone has really put any though into WHY they are like that.

Because its VERY clear that Butch bitchman has parent issues, if the Fenton's ACTUALLY acted based on their trauma with how they lost Vlad then they would be almost OBSESSIVE with how safe they are in the lab. They lost their best friend to a lab accident that nearly killed him and unknown chemicals/elements, you're telling me that wouldn't fundamentally scar 20 somethings actively prosuing beings that they see as dangerous? You're telling me they wouldn't look at the destruction of the lab and suddenly ask themselves how could this have happened? How could've they prevented this?

And if you REALLY like the Angst of the Fentons, imagine what it would do to them to realize the ONE time, ONE TIME, they didn't double and triple check the safety of their portal it cost them their son's life.

Anyway I really think it would've been more interesting if the Fentons were obsessed with lab safety and the inherent tragedy of their lives related to that.

Regulations are written in blood and the Fentons have learned this lesson twice over.

Ok: we have Journal 3, which is Ford’s POV. We have Book of Bill, which is mostly Bill and Ford’s POV but like MOSTLY Bill.

We’ve seen one scribbled out page already on the ARG website. It would be SO funny. SO sad. Imagine seeing the handwriting deteriorating. The spelling. Mixing up dates (Alex you can fuck with the timeline more Alex I know you like that pspspppspspspspps fuck with the timeline pspsppspspsps) and unreliable narrators are so good!!! The pages devolve into shopping lists. Six pages are left blank and they gradually get more yellowed. Then Fiddleford comes back and writes about the aftermath of weirdmaggedon. What it’s like to be with his son again. With Ford. With everyone.

Plus, spreading my own agenda here- I need some Tate and Emma May characterization for my fanfiction. I’m working off of SCRAPS. Frankly- I’m working off of scraps with Fiddleford. I want to know these characters!!

Is it just a momentary symbol as we prepare for the Real Scene?

Is this doubling as a demonstration of how far Brooklynn has come with her prosthesis? A first-time test?

Will Brooklynn move her humble pawn to the far end of the board to become a queen, or will Soyona checkmate her before that happens, and observe that Brooklynn can't win if she doesn't sacrifice some pieces?

Will Brooklynn pull a Motoko Kusanagi and crush a piece by accident to show how difficult it is to measure her own strength? Will Soyona gently reach out and take the remains from Brooklynn's hand, allowing her own fingers to linger for a second to show that Brooklynn could crush her, but she trusts that she won't?

There's a lot that could happen.

9-1-1 8.18 "Seismic Shifts" final thoughts

Disappointing, if not entirely surprising, lack of gay shit.

I'm very satisfied with (implied?) Captain Chim, though!! (Also I called that last week!) And it was so sweet and fitting that Athena helped give him the confidence to get there! 🥰 Though it's perhaps a little concerning that he's starting his rule with, "I'm locking the doors; nobody leaves." 😅 how's that work-life balance going, 118?

(Though I do feel like they made Hen seem kind of meek in order to provide a space for him to step into? Which doesn't seem necessary to me. But also I haven't watched the whole show, so I may not have the best understanding of the characters, and Icould be misinterpreting.)

It's always funny to me when they're like, "we're the 118, we're a team, we're a family!!" or whatever, and two thirds of the ensemble are nameless extras 😅😅 like, I understand why the structure of the story necessitates that, but it's still funny.

Sooo is season 9 gonna start with Buck living on the Diaz's couch?? Making things awkward even though they don't really need to be awkward? Them trying to play the part of Platonic Best Friends, and only partially succeeding?

I AM kinda disappointed we didn't get to see Buck be relieved that Eddie wasn't leaving!!! Like, I know that, textually, he wanted to transfer bc he missed Bobby, but we all know he would never have felt that lost if Eddie hadn't intended to go back to Texas. Buck was definitely a little bit about to blow up his whole life and support network bc his bestie was moving. So it would've been nice to see him react to the news, especially bc the way we jumped straight to him apartment hunting really made him seem perpetually adrift. He's literally over here saying tragic and metaphorical shit to his real estate agent.

Popular Kid Christopher foreverrrrrrr 🥰🥰🥰 he's literally got plans, Dad. (Maybe the fanfic wasn't exaggerating the number of sleepovers?)

Does anyone else feel like it might be weird to name a baby after someone you're close to, who has recently passed? Like, just potentially confusing. Especially if it's the name the child is actually going to be called. But I say this was someone who has never lost someone close to me, or, like, named a baby. So maybe idk what I'm talking about lol. 🤷🏻‍♀️

(I'm also literally named after my own dead abuelita, but that's not the name anyone in my family has ever called me, so I don't think it counts!) (Also it's not like my mom called her by HER name when she was alive.)

Context aside though, I do think Bobby is a cute name for baby Han. Like, Chim and Maddie do seem like they'd be parents to a Bobby! 🥰

It is seeming increasingly likely that og Bobby is actually dead, though. 😬
